About Arash
Designing Clarity From Complexity
I’m Arash Hamdami, a Senior UX & Product Designer. I help teams turn complex requirements into clear, practical digital experiences, combining an understanding of people with the technical and commercial realities of building products.
My experience spans banking, insurance, media, energy, recruitment, public-sector services and consumer products. From mobile banking apps to enterprise platforms and shared design systems, my focus is on helping people understand information, make confident decisions and complete the tasks that matter to them.
My Background
My interest in design began with a curiosity about how things work. As a child, I took apart my first Amstrad computer and used its motor to power a Lego Technic aircraft. That instinct to explore, understand and improve has remained central to how I approach problems.
Growing up around my father’s printing business introduced me to typography, composition and the care involved in producing well-crafted work. My computer-science background and postgraduate study at King’s College London added a technical perspective, giving me an appreciation of both visual detail and the systems behind an experience.
I began my career in banking at Barclays before moving into its digital team to support the development of the mobile banking experience. Working at the intersection of technology, customer needs and design helped establish the direction of my career: creating products that make complex tasks more understandable.
How I Work
I start by understanding the problem, the people affected and the context in which a product is used. Research, journey mapping and early conversations help me identify where an experience creates uncertainty, unnecessary effort or barriers to completing a task.
I translate those insights into flows, information architecture, wireframes and prototypes, using them to explore alternatives and test assumptions before investing in detailed interface design. Visual design then strengthens the experience through clear hierarchy, consistent patterns and careful attention to interaction states.
Collaboration is a central part of that process. I work with product owners, stakeholders, subject-matter experts and engineers to connect user needs with business priorities and delivery constraints. My Early Stakeholder Pair Design approach brings those perspectives together through sketching, workshops and rapid wireframing, helping teams clarify direction early.
What I Value
I value clear reasoning, thoughtful craft and a willingness to challenge assumptions. A strong design should explain why a decision was made, work within its real context and remain open to improvement as new evidence emerges.
Alongside product design, I write and speak about UX. These activities give me opportunities to share ideas, reflect on practice and contribute to conversations about how teams can create more useful digital experiences.
Working Together
I welcome conversations about projects, senior design roles and speaking opportunities. If you’re looking for a designer who can bring structure to a complex challenge and work closely with your team, get in touch.
